Welcome to the homepage of the Craven College Horticulture website. This website is being developed as a resource to compliment the range of horticulture courses offered by the College.
The site is under continuous development and we welcome suggestions as to how this resource could be best used to facilitate learning, whether in College or by distance learning.
The primary resource is a plant database which roughly follows the plant list provided for RHS practical qualifications. The database can be accessed using the tabs PLANT TYPES (if you want to access a particular category of plants such as deciduous shrubs or herbs) or ALL PLANTS if you want to look through all of the plants in the database, alphabetically. You can refine your plant search by using the SEARCH feature for specific genera, plant types or other characteristics etc.
Each entry in the database will provide photographs, descriptions and other relevant information such as propagation methods and uses in the garden. Links to other sites are also provided.
The plant database can also be accessed from the QR codes that will be used on plant labels used on the College campus. Simply scan the QR code and you will be directed to the relevant page for that plant.
