Description and Uses:

Erigeron karvinskianus is a low, spreading perennial with daisy-like flowers from spring until late autumn. The flowers open white and then quickly change to pinkish-purple. A useful plant for rock gardens, coastal gardens, gravel gardens and as a ‘front of border’ plant.

Cultivation Requirements:

Grow in moist but well-drained or well-drained, moderately fertile soil in full sun. In cold areas, protect with a dry winter mulch.

Cut down in spring as new growth emerges from the base; deadhead in autumn if seed is not required.

Planting:

Best planted in the spring to avoid winter wet.

Problems:

Generally free from pests and diseases. Can rot off in the winter if too wet.

Propagation:

Propagate by seed.

Softwood cuttings (basal or heel) in spring or summer.
